KKP was commissioned to prepare the consortium submission to develop the £120m UK Academy of Sport. We reviewed the performance training and games preparation facility requirements of Olympic and Paralympic athletes across 52 different sports and assessed comparable international sporting venues evaluating the best (and least effective) aspects of each. We then created a costed facilities masterplan and an £11million ICT strategy (with Hewlett Packard). The venue was scheduled to accommodate related provision for sports science/sports medicine, athlete support, coaching and ancillary staff and the complex masterplan included accommodation for 500 Olympic and Paralympic athletes.
