Working to a challenging deadline, KKP delivered core elements of the RFU’s headline legacy plan to develop the grassroots facilities infrastructure of women-friendly clubs rugby clubs in England. This underpinned the successful bid to bring the tournament to England and create a facilities legacy process to implement during the lead-in to the tournament.
The work involved extensive individual and focus-group based consultation with RFU staff, women players and officials volunteering/working at all levels of the game.
KKP (working with S&P architects) then produced innovative design ideas for club changing rooms, toilets, social and circulation areas. These were accompanied by costed new designs and a range of potential facility upgrade options.
