KKP worked over a ten-year period with the RFU leading:
- World Class Plan & elite player performance pathway development: mapping the process from talent ID through to England national teams. Working closely with the CEO, Technical Director and the England head coach we developed proposals negotiated the £8million grant obtained from Sport England & were retained to manage process implementation.
- RFU England Academies: Working closely with the CEO, PD, England coaching staff and professional clubs, we prepared the academy specification (facilities and operation) and developed the financial support package linked to individual player development templates. We then led/managed the academy roll-out working with Premiership clubs running the appointment processes for academy managers and assistant managers at all academies. KKP was retained to review implementation over the first three years of operation.
- RFU corporate restructure: We mapped out the structure for the elite game (to what is essentially its present form) specifying job roles and salary structures from performance director down. We led a World-wide benchmarking process looking at rugby and other professional sports, reviewed RFU strategic plans, projected forward in lieu of game growth and worked closely with professional clubs/Premiership Rugby.
- Community game: We concurrently contributed to the shaping of the parallel community game development structure.
